Honestly, I was hopeful but not convinced this would actually work. I’ve been learning more about essential oils and their uses, but believing they could actually tackle my crazy allergies and allergy induced asthma seemed too good to be true. After reading about the possible long term side effects of these medications and feeling like something was “off” after using them, I decided to give it a shot. I started with a drop or two on my shirt. I love the smell of peppermint and the blend that I use is just right. If I felt that familiar tickle in the back of my throat or a sneeze coming on, I go straight to the bottle and inhale deeply. I also made an allergy inhaler to keep with me in my purse so I didn’t have to keep the bottle with me, and sometimes I wear my diffuser necklace. Strangely, this quickly became my go-to. I didn’t even think about my allergy nasal spray, and I haven’t needed my asthma inhaler at all. Usually my allergies get so out of hand I need all three (inhaler, nasal spray and a pill) to get through the day feeling like maybe a gas mask would be the better option! My eyes used to get all red and itchy and swollen and the sneezing would go on and on. I’m happy to report, I am very pleasantly surprised. I didn’t realize how much time had gone by and now it’s officially summer. I made it through the spring without the meds!
